One of Siwa‘s holiest and oldest sacred sites is an enigmatic temple dedicated to the Sun God Amun. Though largely in ruins, it is a most powerful place. There really are no words to describe the feeling I had, standing amidst what was long ago one of the foremost spiritual centers of Egypt, if not the world. I was particularly drawn to the spectacularly large slabs of quartz crystal lying in the harsh sun, the keepers of such extraordinary memories. If only I could hear… If only I could see…

Wow! Siwa has a rich history.
I really wish that the government salvage whatever they can. I can still see some of the hieroglyphs on one of the walls.
I wonder how much preservation and restoration efforts have been made. I am saddened 🙁
