I’ve had the black and gold look on heavy rotation lately. Well, it’s not a timeless classic for no reason… But (of course) I had to give it a twist and thought it’d be most opportune to edge it up with my budding collection of wild cats. I have a bit of a lion fixation (and it’s not my only one… I’ve already publicly admitted to being dangerously skull obsessed) but to be honest I’m not quite sure why. Maybe it’s because I was born in tropical jungle territory… Though I’ve never cared for the thought of meeting such gorgeous specimen of wilderness in the flesh (I’m not the fastest runner in the world, especially on six-inch high heels which I typically insist on wearing in the most inappropriate places). But in my fantasy life, as far as I can remember, I’ve fancied myself surrounded by hordes of these magnificent roaring beasts. I started by drawing them incessantly as a kid, tween, teen and so on, until the brilliant idea dawned upon me to turn my lion obsession into a wearable one. So roughly three or four years ago I conscientiously started “lion hording”, and I never looked back 😉
