Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan made a powerful statement at her Fall/Winter 2017 runway show by featuring every single model proudly rocking a jihab in arguably the most breathtakingly glam showcase at New York Fashion Week this season.
The Global Girl has decidedly taken an apolitical stance, but amidst the intense turmoil we have been going through as a nation, as women and as united members of the human race, I simply had to support such a bold and courageous designer.
Embracing and celebrating the beauty of diversity is after all the cornerstone of what I stand for, so I couldn’t be prouder to be featuring Anniesa Hasibuan’s strong political stance as a celebration of tolerance, diversity and girl power.
