Cesar Arellanes has been on my Global radar for a while. I wanted to bring a little Latin flavor to New York City and thought this dress by the Mexican designer had the right combination of urban chic and exoticism. It’s a skillful marriage of opposites (which as you know I love). A little tough. A little girly. Deconstructed yet structured. Nature-inspired organic shapes executed in industrial-like rubberized textiles. Arguably my most unconventional look to the shows this season.
You’ll recognize Hannan Saleh of Essence Magazine, in her green kimono look and raspberry pink sneakers. She’s captured many of my Fashion Week looks for the Mag. You can see her photo of this outfit here. You can also catch a glimpse of the delightful Sylvia Jorif from Elle France (fifth pic from the top). What a delightful lady. I always relish a little French bonding when the opportunity arises. After all I’m a Frenchie. And proud to be.
